Request For Proposal FOR LEGAL SERVICES – Denver Housing Authority
The Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (“DHA”) is currently soliciting for General Legal Services: RFP No. 07-006 entitled “Legislative Analysis Services.” DHA plans to select multiple contractors for this RFP. The Authority intends to divide any Contract(s) awarded as a result of this solicitation into the following categories, including:
- Real Estate, including, but not limited to, Construction
- Fair Housing, Section 504, ADA
- Environmental
- Public Sector Pension Plans and Benefits
- Labor and Employment
- Telecommunications
- Public Finance
The solicitation will be available on February 2, 2007, after 8:00 a.m. To ensure that interested parties receive all amendments to this solicitation, the solicitation must be obtained in one of the following ways:
(1) By picking up a hard copy of the RFP at DHA, which is located at 777 Grant Street, 4th Floor, Denver, CO 80203. You must sign DHA's "Physical Distribution of Solicitation" list in the Procurement Department. Please call (720) 932-3070, to verify availability of the solicitation package prior to pick-up; or
(2) You may also obtain a copy by logging on to DHA's procurement webpage at http://www.denverhousing.org. Click Business Opportunities, then Bids/Proposals/Quotes. The Denver office of United States Senator Ken Salazar (D-CO) seeks to hire a deputy press secretary. Candidates should have strong writing and proofreading skills, be adaptable and have some knowledge of Colorado media outlets.
Responsibilities include assisting the communications director/press secretary with research, writing news releases and newspaper columns, keeping up outreach to members of the Colorado media, maintaining media files, planning and preparing for press conferences and administrative work.

Assistant Attorney General I
There is a full-time AAG I position open in the Resource Conservation Unit within the Natural Resources and Environment Section. This position represents two clients: the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety and the State Board of Land Commissioners. The position is funded through June 2007 and will likely become permanent in July 2008. Experience in bankruptcy law and practice is strongly preferred. In addition, knowledge and experience in administrative law and procedure, real estate law, contracts and environmental law are preferred.

Associate Counsel for Western Union- Job Code 0700095
Location – Englewood CO.
This Associate Counsel position will have responsibility for a broad range of contractual, regulatory and compliance issues associated with Western Union’s business in the Americas (including supporting the money transfer and associated business of Western Union and its affiliated brands, Vigo and Orlandi Valuta). The position has responsibility for inter-company matters (such as working with Western Union’s tax, AML compliance, audit, enrollment and regulatory departments) and must be able to coordinate work with other regional and functional attorneys both inside and outside the organization while under the general guidance of more senior attorneys. The position will provide legal support on a broad range of matters, including general business law, contracts, regulatory interpretation, foreign exchange regulation, competition and anti-trust issues, and risk management. The successful candidate must have excellent negotiation skills, superb drafting and oral communication abilities (in English and Spanish) and be able to work independently while under general guidance from more senior lawyers. The associate counsel must have good business acumen and the ability to work constructively and persuasively with business leadership.
Qualifications
3-5+ years experience in corporate or law firm environment with heavy experience in financial services, contracts and general business law, including drafting and review of complex contracts and other legal document
Demonstrated client service skills
Ability to manage multiple projects
Fluency in English and Spanish languages is required

Colorado Legal Services - Grand Junction Office
The Colorado Legal Services has an opening for a Domestic Violence Attorney to represent victims of domestic violence in civil cases. The position is funded by a federal grant for a period of one year.
The salary range begins a $33, 180 (DOE). Excellent Benefits.
The applicant must be able to a handle fast moving, high volume litigation caseload. Sensitivity to the legal needs of low income victims and minorities is a prerequisite. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Colorado.
